Sussex English Society (EngSoc)

Poetry & Writing Workshops - Every Tuesday 7pm in Meeting Room 3

Sussex Reads Book Club Next Meeting - Thursday 25th October 2018, Falmer House Common Room, 6pm

Welcome to the official page of the Sussex English Society!

EngSoc is run by students of the School of English and lovers of literature from all over the university! We are a growing society that hopes to get as involved as possible in Sussex student life over the next academic year. We're here to support and empower students, bring all lovers of English together and organise events such as coffee mornings, outings and an end of year ball.

Everyone is welcome at our events. You don't have to be studying English or even an expert in literature and linguistics. As long as you're interested and enthusiastic, we'd be honoured to have you! All students and faculty are welcome to any of our events, regardless of age, gender, religion, orientation, race or social background.

EngSoc practices a safe space and zero tolerance policy. We feel that it is important that our members feel safe, supported and ultimately free from harassment or discrimination.

In September & October, Sussex Reads Book Club are reading Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli!

Love poetry? We have weekly workshops where you can discover, write & share!
