Canadian Student Law

The aims and objectives of the Canadian Student Law Society are to provide its members with a programme of events and activities based around the subject of law and a career in law and to establish a network that will carry on in to legal practice. The Canadian Student Law Society exists to enhance each members' academic and social experience throughout the duration of law school.

The CSLS is inclusive of all University of Sussex students who would like to join. Our primary goals are to:

1. Provide information and guidance for students endeavoring to practice law in Canada.
2. Provide ongoing assistance to Canadian students in their transition to Sussex academic and social life.
3. Elevate the profile of Canadian Sussex law students to prospective employers in Canada.
4. Organise nights out in Brighton for our members.
5. Celebrate Canadian holidays.

In order to achieve this we provide a number of social and academic events throughout the year
Our Key Events include:

1. Welcome event
2. Thanksgiving Dinner in October
2. Remembrance Day trip to Dieppe, France
3. Christmas/ Sunday Roast Party
3. Participation in the MacKay Cup National Canadian Content Moot
