WELCOME TO SUSSEX WOMEN'S LACROSSE!
We're a fun, friendly and sociable club, open to everyone from complete beginners to experienced players! Feel free to pop along any time (don't worry about sticks or equipment, we have plenty of spares) and get stuck in, you won't regret it!
Come along to any of our training sessions to find out what we're all about!
Founded in 2013, we are going into our third year in the BUCS league after doing brilliant last year, placing third! We also made it to the semi-finals of the South East Conference Cup- huge achievements given our recent founding which we hope to keep building on. In addition to the league matches every Wednesday, we also play friendlies with the more local teams.
Don't worry if you don't have much, if any experience, we accommodate all abilities and there's lots of opportunities to get on the pitch and develop your skills! There's something for everyone, whatever level, however competitive!
Check us out on social media to keep updated with the club's activity and discover more about us!

All training sessions are at Falmer Sports Complex at the top of campus:
Tuesday's - 20.00-21.00 (1st and 2nd team on the Astro)
Thursday's - 17.00-18.00 (Strength and conditioning - 1st and 2nd team) &18.30-20.00 (2nd team training on the Astro)
Friday's - 19.00-21.00 (1st team training on the Astro)
Don't worry about equipment - we've got you covered, all you need is a smile and enthusiasm!
Although training and matches are a significant part of what we do as club, our socials (linked with our partner men's lacrosse team) are equally as important! From 9pm every Wednesday you can catch us getting the party started in Yates for pres, before we head out to Pryzm to end the night in style... Dress code: FANCY DRESS (the crazier the better) - anything goes so don't hold back. Always a night to remember, our Wednesday evenings will invariably be something to look forward to each week!
On top of this we have a variety of 'sober socials'- these are great opportunities to catch up and get to know everyone better, perhaps over some of Wagamamma's finest noodles or even a BBQ on the beach.
Additionally, we will be holding charity events over the course of the year, for example charity games with the men's lacrosse team. Some of our members have even signed up to run the Brighton Half Marathon! It's a great way to contribute to the community, have a bit of fun, challenge ourselves and further bond as a team.
WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN:
We're an inclusive, diverse club and part of a big lax family; more than just teammates we're a group of close friends who enjoy a good laugh. Together we train, socialise, win (and sometimes even lose); becoming part of the club is something you definitely won't regret, you'll join in in no time and have the time of your life doing so. So if you're looking for something to spice up your Sussex life, being a lax gal is definitely it! You'll make memories and friends you'll never forget!
