Thank you for donating to the Re-Use Scheme

Two lines of crates in the middle of a room, with several people looking through them for items

It took three days, several staff members, hard-working porters moving many heavy crates, one cafe (Room 76) and a LOT cleaning, but we managed to sort through the amazing 200+ crates you donated to the Re-Use scheme.

We have 180 crates of stuff for the kitchen, homeware, games, clothes, books and more ready for Freshers to go through in our September Free Shop. We have donated a few bags of sanitary products to the Brighton Women's Centre and Homeless Period Brighton, via one of their drop off locations, and towels to First Base Day Centre. We also donated around 30 crates of food to The Real Junk Food Project, who do fantastic work producing pay as you feel meals from food that would otherwise have been thrown out.

First and foremost, thank you to the students who donated, and staff from across the Students' Union, the University and Sussex Estates and Facilities - and a big thank you to the University for helping us fund the scheme. See you at the Free Shop during the Freshers' Welcome Weekend in September!
