On Monday, Student Reps from across the University met with University staff to discuss the ways in which the campus could be improved for students. Reps discussed some of the most supported ideas on the Enlitened app. These included:
Reps also spoke about the need for improved recycling on campus, and where improved recycling points could be around the University. There were also suggestions for all paper used, for example in printers in the library, to be changed to recycled paper. Reps highlighted how it would be good to have more places to recycle bottles and crisp packets, as well as the need to improve recycling in University accommodation in general.
Another discussion also centred around how the University of Sussex app could be improved, for example:
Finally, there was some discussion around how outside space could be better used. For example, if it would be helpful to have more large benches to work on, outside fountains or more covered areas to work in.
Student Reps and University staff will be working together over the coming months to see how they might implement some of these ideas.
