Good Night Sussex Scheme Launched

The Good Night Sussex Scheme aims to make sure everyone gets home safe when they’ve been on a night out! If you’ve lost your card, don’t have any cash, or feel unsafe walking or getting the bus home, you can use get one of our Good Night Sussex taxis to take you home, and then pay your fare at the students’ union the next day. All you need is your student card or to be able to give other information!

How it works

  • If you’re ready to come home from your night out, you can call this number (01273 204060) to book a taxi home, quoting the “Good Night Sussex" safe scheme”
  • Alternatively if you approach any Brighton & Hove Radio Cabs taxis and say that you are using the Good Night Sussex scheme, then they will know that you’re a sussex student and that you need help!
  • When the taxi arrives you should give the driver your student card, they will take down your name and student registration number, and candidate number.  If for whatever reason you do not have your Student ID card, you will need to give the driver your Full Name, Mobile number, email, D.O.B, address, and the course that you are studying plus year that you are in.
  • They will then take you to wherever you want to go, and at the end of the journey give you a receipt of your fare.
  • You should take this receipt into the students’ union reception the next day and pay the fare. You will be sent a reminder email to your student email address reminding you of what to do!
  • Remember, this doesn’t work for just any taxi in the city, it is only the specific taxi company (Brighton & Hove Radio cabs) that we work with! It’s really important that you pay the money back to the students’ union, otherwise, we won’t be able to continue with the scheme!
  • If you don’t pay your fare after 3 months, you will be banned from student union outlets until you have paid your fare. If you can’t pay for any reason, let us know!
