Yesterday I spend time walking around campus chatting to students about what issues they face here at Sussex & living in Brighton. Here are some of the things that were mentioned..
(Hidden) Costs of university, Transport (especially buses), Bike lanes, Lack of library space, Parking and cost of parking permits, Feedback on assignments, Finding accommodation, Housing costs, Course timetabling
These issues are not only faced by the students I spoke to, but these are also issues faced by most students at Sussex. But you guys have the power to create change and the SU is here to support and help you! If you don't know where to start but really want to make life at Sussex better come along to our student forums!!! (https://www.facebook.com/events/759804191023795/)
P.s. thank you to everyone that spoke to me while you were probably trying to just grab some lunch. Students should shape how the Union works so hearing what you think about the Union, university and being a student in general helps no matter what your feedback back is <3

My aim in writing this is to get more students aware of what goes on in the SU, more students thinking about how we can make it better and ultimately shine a light on an important part of being an Officer.
