One World Sussex events aim to expose students to a globalised world and diversity of cultures.
The multitude of nationalities and cultures of our students and staff provides an excellent opportunity for us to put on events that engage, educate and entertain, from raising global awareness through lectures on world issues to the celebration of cultural festivals.
Through this sharing of cultures we hope to encourage the successful integration of UK and international students, promoting the mutual identity of a global campus for everyone to celebrate and enjoy.
One World Sussex aims to:
One World Week gives students and staff an opportunity to share aspects of their own cultures with others, promote cultural understanding and explore global issues.
Thousands of students take part in the annual celebration, by attending events that showcase food, language and culture. Many of the events are organised by student societies, with the support of the University of Sussex and the Students' Union.
This year's One World Week will be held between the 19th and 23rd March, and is set to be our best yet.
