Volunteering

Volunteering is an enjoyable way for you to make a difference, provides a fantastic opportunity for you to develop key skills for your future career and to check out possible career paths. On top of that it’s a great way to make new friends, to do something different from your studies and to get a different perspective of life.

We offer you the opportunity to volunteer in a wide variety of locally based organisations and community projects as well as for the Students' Union.

There are lots of options to choose from and we will help you find the volunteering placement that is right for you so contact us for more information.

About us

What we do

Project V, part funded by Sussex Plus, helps students and University staff to find volunteering placements in the local community and on campus. Our staff provide ongoing support throughout your volunteering placement. We also help sports clubs, societies and student groups set up community projects and take part in one-off volunteering activities.

If you're interested in what Project V has been up to over the last few year, you can read our Annual Reviews; 2009-10 ~ 2008-09 ~ 2007-08 ~ 2006-07

Our team

Michaela Rossmann, Volunteering Development Coordinator, coordinates the Project V community volunteering scheme. Naomi Ashman, Volunteering Placement Coordinator, helps students find placements that suit their needs. Samreen Faira, Volunteer Coordinator, supports volunteers within the Students' Union.

Full-time elected officer

The Activities Officer, James Hickie, represents students views to help improve our volunteering service.
