Janet Seymour from the Hove stroke club said the following about Isobel:

"Since I.B intends to be a speech therapist as a career, she works with our stroke survivors with speech problems, sometimes in a conversational way by encouraging them to tell her about their activities that week or their past. Her achievement with working with our club members is that she has won their confidence as she is so patient working with them. The non speakers seek her out to impart information."

Dinaria Zapparova from READ International said the following about Lulu:

Gold Award Winners 2009-10

Two students received Gold Awards for their outstanting contribution to volunteering:

Rebecca Newman (far right)

Nadine Bell and Helen Richards of RASP described Rebecca's contribution to the project:

Rebecca is very much a teamplayer, responsible and dependable, and someone who uses her instinct and intuition, and who is always at hand to support the young people she befriends in the RASP sessions. In addition, she frequently leads by example and in this way her impact extends further, guiding other new volunteer befrienders. She is a reliable and committed volunteer who excels in her role with RASP. Rebecca is pro-active in her approach and has played a key role in the development of RASP which is still a relatively young project.

Noemi Reiner (far left)

Sarah Ford of READ International describes Noemi's contribution to the project:

Noemi has shown a huge amount of dedication to her role within the READ team. She has worked extremely hard to help the project be successful and it is with this commitment that she has helped to encourage and inspire volunteers around her. She has also been an extremely positive leader within the group, communicating well with the other interns and volunteers and supporting others in their own roles whilst undertaking hers.
