University Radio Falmer (URF) is the radio station of the University of Sussex Students’ Union.
URF is one of the oldest student radio stations in the country and is also one of the only stations that doesn’t playlist it's shows. It can be heard across the world online at www.urfonline.com.
Student DJs determine the music policy, as URF is run entirely by student volunteers. So whether you want to play an hour of reggae music, or host a Loose Women style chat show, there is the freedom to make something that is entirely your own and that you can be proud of.
Whether you enjoy the rush of being on air, you’d rather help out off air, or even if you just want to listen to some great shows, they’ve got something for you.
Based in Norwich House, URF broadcasts across campus, Brighton and the world via www.urfonline.com, our Student Radio Award-winning website. Getting involved in student radio is not only fun, but can be incredibly rewarding, looks great on your CV and past members have gone on to work for Juice 107.2FM and the BBC.

Membership of URF costs either £5 per term or £10 for the year, which pays for maintenance of the studio equipment along with licensing fees that allow us to broadcast, to become a member simply pop along to the Students' Union Box Office in Falmer House.
