RAG's LOST! event raised over £5000 through sponsorship, fundraising and donations for the Make A Wish Foundation which grants magical wishes to seriously ill children and their families.
Teams congregated on campus at 3am, many in fancy dress, before being blindfolded and boarding the coach to a mystery location. Their challenge was to make their way back to the University campus without spending any money on transport.
At 6.30am 93 students were dropped on the corner of Corfe Castle village, beyond Bournemouth along the coast, with a spooky view of the castle rising out of the mist.
Teams dispersed in all directions trying to work out where they were and what direction to go in, whilst the RAG committee watched the online tracker to follow their progress on their way home!
Teams were still dotted around the south of England when the first team got in at 12.30pm with one team still in Corfe (the RAG committee did feel a little sorry for them!)
Participants enjoyed free bus journeys (including on the local 25 bus) and lifts from willing drivers as well as free McDonalds, Costa and a fry up from ASDA!
Team 'Lost Property' managed to get a free taxi ride from a taxi firm who loved what they were doing so much that they kept in contact with them all day offering help wherever they could.
Richard Mashiter, Activities Officer said "once again, RAG raise shedloads of money for charity and ensure that students have loads of fun doing it! A massive congratulations and thanks to the RAG team and the LOST! participants."
