Shops & Bars

We run a number of shops and bars on campus whose profits go back into the Students' Union - £183,500 in 2011!

Using our shops and bars means your money stays on campus and goes back to benefit students.

We offer flexible jobs for students and employ an average of 140 students across our shops and bars.

We'd love to have your feedback (good and bad!) and input to ensuring all our services are what you want so contact us if you have any comments.

East Slope Bar

Live music, football, barbeques, but above all a great place to meet friends any night of the week. A great place to watch out for your next bus into town if the weather's not so good.

Where? Top of campus next to East Slope Residences.

When? Open 12pm-midnight Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, 12pm-1am on Tuesdays & Fridays and 12pm-midnight on Saturdays and Sundays.

Food?  East Slope Bar now has an authentic new Thai menu! All your favourites from Green Curry and Pad Thai, to Tom Yum soup and fishcakes. At last.... different and delicious food on campus.

Along with Thai food we will still be providing you with your favourite pub classics.... Burgers, CHIPS and Bangers & Mash.... and Sunday isn't Sunday without a roast dinner!

You’ll be able to eat in or take away. No matter how little time you have to eat you will be able to do so comfortably at East Slope Bar.

Open Monday-Friday: 12 noon - 9.30pm  /  Saturday:12 noon - 8.30pm / Sunday 12 noon - 9pm

Drink? With a huge range of draught lager/beer/bitter/stout/cider and enough spirits to keep Yvette Fielding busy for a year, you’ll not go thirsty at East Slope Bar, especially with their rock-bottom union prices!

Entertainment? THE place to be for live music and Dj’s on campus. Usually 2-3 nights of the week there’ll be some band or another playing (The Kooks were among those who played before), Friday night is Band Night, with at least three different groups playing, expect to see the next big thing! As well as music and the Sunday quiz!
