Be a part of the University of Sussex Women's Football Club as it moves from strength to strength

The Women's Football Club saw near-on a complete make-over in 2010/11 with an influx of freshers joining only a handful of remaining 2nd years. This season, we are looking for a mass of new players to join us and help push the club onwards, building on last year's foundations.

Whether you have been playing competitive football all your life, enjoy a casual kick around in the park or have never touched a football before; we welcome you to the University of Sussex Women's Football Club.

We strike a great balance between having fun and enjoying our football, and working hard to achieve results on the pitch, which is why we have players of all abilities who feel at home at the club. There is scope to take exactly what you want from being part of a sports team at the Women's Football Club:

Training takes place twice a week on Tuesdays at Brighton Uni 3G Pitch 5-6.30pm and on Fridays at our astro turf pitches at Falmer Sports Complex again 5-6.30pm. Tuesday training focuses on fitness, match play and learning and developing new skills. Friday's training takes on a more casual set up of 5-a-side matches.

Attendance at both training sessions is required if you wish to play for the team in matches which are played most Wednesdays with a 2pm kick off. We play in the BUCS south east conference league, so we travel into London for our away matches.

On Wednesday nights we have our weekly social. This is a brilliant night for all members of the club, including those who don't play competitively, and a great opportunity to build friendships and come together as a team. Each week has a theme, so we get dressed up and pile into Oceana for a crazy night with all the other sports teams at Sussex. Throughout the year we also have socials of a different nature such as meals out, ice skating ect.

Joining a sports team is a guarenteed way to make friends quickly and settle in at University, and there are few friendlier teams than the Women's Football Club. Look out for our stall at the Fresher's Fair where you'll be able to meet some of the squad, get information about our taster sessions and sign up to the club!
