For the last to years we have been awarded a Gold ‘Green Impact’ NUS award for our efforts to reduce our ecological impact.

We have an elected part-time Environmental & Ethical Officer, supported by the full time Operations Officer. The role of the Ethical & Environmental Officer is to liase between students, societies, the Union and the University on all things ethical and environmental, and to push forward new policies and ideas for sustainability. We also have four Ethical & Environmental Reps

Campus resources & facilities

You can find out some general tips on reducing your environmental impact in our seven steps to sustainable living which contain details about some campus resources and facilities

The two new buildings, Frisson and Fulton, now both have cycle racks located beside them.

A new cycle shelter has been installed at the North end of the Mantel building.

Two more shelters have been installed on the edge of the Sussex house car park.

University car share scheme

The University's car share website allows you to register your details, where you are traveling to and from and whether you are offering a lift or seeking a lift. It will then search for appropriate matches.
