The University of Sussex Students' Union aims to make the lives of its members better by providing opportunities such as sports clubs and societies, advice and support services on issues such as housing and coursework and student-friendly shops and bars on campus.

Full-time officer elections

Full-time Officers

Full-time officers are Sussex/BSMS students who are elected to work in a paid position in the Students' Union for an academic year. Students can either take a year out from their studies or final years tudents can stand for office for the year following their graduation. The election is held in week 5 of the Spring term, and the successful candidates start their year at the Union in the first week of the Summer vacation.

Full-time officers are members of many Students' Union and University committees such as Union Council and Executive Committee. All officers are responsible for the overall direction of the Students' Union but each officer also a particular area of responsibility - there are six different positions available, so it's likely that there'll be something to grab your interest!
